What Might These Powerlines Look Like?
Visit our gallery for more images of powerlines, and the Ozark beauty they could destroy.
If SWEPCO carries out their proposal, they will harm ALL OF US
Arkansas and Missouri citizens, landowners, business owners, and contributors to the community and tax base. SWEPCO will damage our region’s tourism economy. Visitors come to the Ozarks for natural beauty and recreation. They will NOT come for once-scenic views marred by a 50-mile long, 150-foot wide, clear-cut strip in which a string of 150-foot tall towers stand where a beautiful forest once stood.
Features and attractions that will be affected include:
- Inspiration Point at the White River
- Pea Ridge National Military Park
- Mark Twain National Forest
- the Razorback Greenway
- Thorncrown Chapel
- views from the Historic Beaver Town Bridge
- Lake Leatherwood
- Beaver Lake
- the Christ of the Ozarks statue
- and many other highly scenic viewpoints.
